COVID-19 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

At Magoroto Forest Estate, we are closely monitoring the situation regarding the Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) to ensure that we have the most up-to-date information and are taking the most effective safety precautions. The health, safety and well-being of our guests, along with our staff, is our number one priority.

We are following the latest guidelines from the World Health Organization (WHO), The United Republic of Tanzania’s Ministry of Health and our local government. All our staff have been trained in the current protocols and procedures to ensure guests safety. All our guides and staff are following strict hand hygiene policies. We also encourage guests to wash their hands regularly  with soap and warm water during their stay.

Below is a closer look of steps being taken at Magoroto Forest Estate.

  • All staff trained in appropriate guidelines, according to WHO, national and local government guidelines.
  • Hand hygiene has been elevated and we make sure each guest has a portable hand sanitizer at all times during their stay.
  • Increased frequency and intensity of cleaning protocols with disinfectants being used to ensure safety.
  • Regular disinfection of commonly touched surfaces. (door handles,toilets, tables etc)
  • Spots to wash hands with running water and soap made available in public areas.
  • Temperature checking and screening on arrival to identify those at risk of infection or transmission.
  • Tour guiding will be done in smaller groups
  • Some activities such as village tours have been omitted to limit contact between guests and surrounding village community.
  • Hiking trails that pass through the villages will not be executed. Only nature hiking trails through the forest and with minimal interaction with villagers will be executed these include among others; Waterfall trail, Kitulwe hiking trail, Kidimdim hiking trail, Kwenyesi hiking trail and Kwemhiza hiking trail.
  • To make it easy for our guests to arrive at Magoroto Forest Estate without using public transport, we have arranged for special private transport from Dar Es Salaam and Arusha. Costs and charges as indicated in our rate card.

While we are taking every possible precaution to ensure the safety and peace of mind of our guests during their stay, we request those visiting us to help us maintain our high standards of hygiene safety by implementing the following steps;

  • Wash hands regularly with soap and water, for at least 20 seconds.
  • Carry a personal hand sanitizer when travelling.
  • Avoid touching eyes, mouth and nose.
  • Cover mouth with elbow when coughing or sneezing
  • Avoid unnecessary physical touch such as handshakes.
  • Maintain social distancing wherever possible.

Magoroto Forest Estate remains open welcoming guests and visitors over the coming weeks and months beginning 1st June, 2020. Be rest assured that we are taking all necessary measures to remain a safe, welcoming place to stay, where guests can enjoy nature, calmness and a peace of mind away from the bustling city life.

As we strive hard to follow the necessary health and safety precautions to ensure our guests and employees remain safe, we will conduct the below health procedures.

  • Body Temperature Check

All guests and employees temperature will be checked upon arrival. For the safety of all, anyone who registers a temperature above 37.5 °C will not be permitted to enter the premises. Sick employees will not be permitted to work until they have fully recovered.

  • Mask and Hand Sanitizer Provided Upon Arrival

For guests who check-in without a personal hand sanitizer and mask will be requested to purchase one for use during and after their stay. Guests displaying flu-like symptoms are kindly requested to use face masks or tissues to ensure the safety of others. Masks and gloves are also provided for employees to further increase kitchen and operational safety.

  • Sterilization and Disinfection Procedures

We consistently and regularly  disinfect our tables between guest use. Our linens are washed with disinfectant. Camping tents and rooms are disinfected thoroughly after each guest use.

  • Maintaining Safe Distance

Our camping tents have been spaced apart to ensure safe distance. We have limited the number of guests accommodated at any particular time to ensure safe distance is well maintained while also increasing the exclusivity of their experience.

  • Addition of Immune Boosting Herbal Drinks

We’ll be offering lemongrass tea, lemon tea and spiced tea that is rich in antioxidants and immune boosting to our guests every morning and evenings. At our Bar, a new section of Magoroto Organics is added, these are specially made soft and hard drinks made from careful sourced herbals within our Forest that will help boost your immunity and keep you refreshed.
