The Amani Enduro MTB XC is an exciting three-day mountain biking event set in the stunning East Usambara Mountains. This event combines cross-country and enduro-style riding across varied terrain including tea plantations, forest trails, and ridge-line singletracks.

Day 1 - Arrival & Warm-Up (Feb 21st)

12:00 – 14:00 | Arrival & Check-In

  • Participants arrive at the Amani campsite.
  • Event staff assist with setting up tents and distribute welcome kits (race bibs, schedule, and maps).
  • Light refreshments provided.

14:00 – 15:30 | Bike Inspection & Technical Support

  • Riders bring their bikes for a quick technical check (brakes, gears, tire pressure).
  • Mechanics on-site to handle minor tune-ups.

15:30 – 17:00 | Warm-Up Ride (Optional)

  • Guided loop through nearby trails or dirt roads in Amani.
  • Opportunity to acclimatize to terrain and check bike performance.

17:30 – 19:00 | Orientation & Safety Briefing

  • Organizers explain the Enduro MTB XC format, route details, and safety protocols.
  • Q&A session regarding track conditions, weather updates, and support stations.

19:00 – 20:30 | Welcome Dinner

  • Group dinner at the campsite.
  • Networking and social time around a bonfire.

Overnight: Camping at Amani base camp.

Day 2 - Main Enduro Stages (Feb 22nd)

06:00 – 07:00 | Breakfast

  • Buffet-style breakfast at the campsite (included in event fee)
  • Final gear checks and hydration prep.

07:30 – 08:00 | Stage 1 Briefing

  • Overview of the Tea Plantation Loop: distance, elevation, checkpoints, and rest stops.
  • Important safety notes and time cut-offs.

08:00 – 12:30 | Stage 1 – Tea Plantation Loop

  • Scenic cross-country route through the East Usambara Tea Plantation.
  • Rolling hills, singletracks, and moderate climbs.
  • Midway water/aid station with technical support.

12:30 – 14:00 | Lunch Break

  • Picnic-style lunch at a rest area overlooking tea fields.
  • Refill hydration packs and do quick bike maintenance if needed.

14:00 – 16:30 | Stage 2 – Enduro Descents & Ridge Trails

  • Technical terrain with downhill sections and ridge-line singletracks.
  • Official timing points for the Enduro segments riders must follow caution signs.

16:30 – 17:00 | Return to Campsite

  • Shuttle available or self-ride back depending on distance and group arrangement.

17:30 – 19:00 | Evening Activities

  • Relax at the campsite, enjoy snacks or tea tasting (optional local tea demonstration).
  • Massage or physiotherapy sessions available (if oJered by the organizing team).

19:00 – 21:00 | Dinner & Social

  • Hearty group dinner with a recap of the day’s highlights and next-day briefing.

Day 3 - Final XC Stage & Closing (Feb 23rd)

  • Overview of the Amani Summit Trails: moderate distance with scenic vantage points.

08:00 – 12:00 | Stage 3 – Amani Summit Trails

  • Ride through lush forest trails with panoramic views of Tanga’s landscapes.
  • Aid station halfway with water, snacks, and technical support.

12:00 – 13:00 | Return & Bike Check-Out

  • Conclude at the campsite or designated endpoint.
  • Final bike checks and packing up.

13:00 – 14:00 | Closing Ceremony & Lunch

  • Award presentations for top finishers (if any).
  • Group photo session and finisher medals/certificates.
  • Closing remarks from organizers and local representatives.

14:00 – 15:00 | Departure

  • Participants depart or explore local attractions at leisure.
